Knitted Daleks

My kids are far too old to like knitted toys, but these two are not really considered toys--they're Daleks. If you are a Doctor Who fan you know exactly what these are; if you're not, I'm not going to bother explaining.

I found this pattern last year or so at http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/ . Sadly I don't think it's there anymore though.

Knitting bobbles was new to me, so I learned as I knit. I made a few slight modifications from the original pattern, but it is basically the same. The photo doesn't show their manipulator arm (plunger arm) well but it's pretty neat if I do say so. While stuffing them, the kids and I put a purplish pink yarn tassel that looked kind of squiddish into the upper center--to make it more of a real Dalek.

The boys have told me a whole Dalek army would be great. I told them they'd better learn to knit themselves then.

Happy Halloween!
