McCall's Dress with Zig Zag

Here's a 1952 McCall's pattern with interesting detailing with the zig zag on the hips and a V on the bodice. These are large tucks in the fabric. Unusual details on the hips is usually not good but this is intriguing--I wonder if the up and down effect is an optical illusion and might be slimming.

Notice where it says this is a Misses' Afternoon Dress. Not your morning work dress. Perfect to go with white gloves.
