For this first day of Autumn I thought I'd show some of the clothes I made this summer and never posted. There is a reason none of these things were ever posted. They're dull. Wearable but meh.
This is a peasant blouse that was fine, but I thought was a little too loose. I made a belt out of the scraps to go with it but isn't in the photo. I might get out my gatherer foot and run a couple of rows of elastic thread through the waist...maybe...yawn.
This is a pima cotton sleeveless top. It was ok but not worth a post.
A chocolate brown pencil skirt. Perfectly wearable but hardly of interest. I didn't even bother getting a decent photo.
And then there was this. I had this pattern lying out and my husband spotted it and encouraged me to make it. I warned him that pattern envelopes lie and that the little line drawing was a more accurate depiction. No shaping --it would look like a bag. I made it anyway --out of the green seersucker. Have you ever made something, put it on, looked in the mirror, and simply said, "Blah!" That's what happened. I modeled it for Husband who agreed that it looked like an old bag. But he helped salvage it by suggesting I cut it off for a tunic top. I did and it worked. No, I'm not bothering to get a photo of it. You'll just have to take my word for it --you've seen enough boring clothes.
Thankfully Fall is here and with it comes more interesting clothes. I always find sewing clothes for Fall and Winter more exciting.
