This nightgown could have so easily been a granny nighty but eluded it with style. I think it's that waist that saved it --that upward V that is such a classic 1940's look. It still mildly amuses me that clothes designed decades ago for
sleeping in are more beautiful than many of the modern clothes made for dressing up and going out in.

Lovely pattern. There was such style and elegance then. We've lost the glamour and substituted.....I don't know if we've substituted much more than shock value and revealing pieces of cloth........

Peter, I doubt I'll make this any time soon. I tend to make 1930's nightgowns --like the one on the sidebar.
This nightgown makes me want to sit at my vanity and apply my cold cream.
