These worn out patterns have been in my family for years. My grandmother used some of them to make clothes for her children -- four girls, one boy. And then my mother and aunts used them when they had children and even lent them to friends. A few of them have been patched up.
This one above has been reissued by Simplicity.
Look at the baby in the lower right corner on the pattern above. That one needs watching -- very mischievous looking.

I have a few of those and the older ones are more charming, I agree.
I have a few of these, too, and I do also like the older styles. So wonderful to have patterns from your family!
So sweet -- like old children's book illustrations...
Aww! These remind me of a box of "hand me downs" I received when my first daughter was born, from a great aunt. They all dated to the 60s. Particularly cute were some little pink snowsuits... Trimmed in real fur!
I never could figure out how to use them, mind, as they were infant-sized and my babies were VERY spitty... Everything had to be washable.
I love your funny (stinky?) title for this post!
These are so adorable. Sewing for babies is such fun! Cute little pattern pieces, and permission to use trim!
I love that you have these! I actually have a few of the same ones in my posession and am using them to base some new designs on as I am starting a buisness in making old fashioned day gowns. For now, in just beautiful simple creamy and white cottons. I am trying to come up with designs that still have lovely detailing without all the extensive handwork. It's so exciting! I really appreciate your blog as I have referenced it numerous times to help figure out all the feet that belong to a beautiful old Singer I also have to use. Thank you! ~Wanda
