Diagonal Dress Done
I finished it! Simplicity 7075. It looks like the pattern envelope except that I lowered the neck. I can't stand stuff close to my neck anymore.
I've worn the dress this morning and even though I like it, it has some problems. The center of the neck buckles out - perhaps it's called gaping but it definitely seems like buckling. And a funny but irritating thing -- when I sit down it rides up...in the boobs. It just kind of comes up and puffs out there! I've started pulling it down in the waist each time I sit. So, I like it, but it's not going to be a favorite. I could always try and fix these problems and make it again but not right now.
I know you all like to see stuff on but my photographer husband isn't here and I can't seem to get a good mirror shot. This will have to suffice:
See the buckling at the neck? Oh well, I did have a lot of fun sewing it. And that photo is in son #1's room. I didn't realize how dirty the mirror was until I saw the photo! Some white vinegar will clean it right up.
After sewing a few of these 1960's dresses they become a snap to sew. So easy, in fact, I found myself looking at 1960's patterns with more challenging architectural seaming and details, but I tore myself away. I don't need more patterns...I keep telling myself.

Love the colours on this one! This one, particularly, is very 'current' - those 60's designers were on to a good thing :)
It's really cute! I know what you mean about a few things bothering you, but no one but you notices!
I LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the color combination! So pretty!
