Diagonal Dress Pattern
This one caught my eye -- Simplicity 7075 from 1967. I've never done any color blocking or anything like this, so I thought I'd give it a try. I normally don't buy vintage patterns anymore since I have plenty but this one was for 99 cents and less than $2.00 shipping so I bought it.
I pulled it out of the envelope and took it to the ironing board to press it out some...after I got all the little carpet beetle carcasses out of it:
..or I guess they're really exoskeletons. I checked for evidence of more but none -- they look to be old.
Interesting choices with a two color dress! Which color thread? Which color zipper?
I'm going with the green.

With the thread, can't you use 2 different colors? on in the bobbin and one on the machine. I make headwraps in different colors joined with a french seam and that's what I do. Seems to work for me
Cute dress! I'd have gone with the blue zipper, lol. I agree with the above -- use different bobbin/needle threads. You could insert piping in a third color along the diagonal seam to emphasize it even more. Although that seems like a lot of extra work, and not true to the original design ... forget I said anything.
ooohh! Can't wait to see the colour blocking! Love these sorts of mod designs!
Whoever sells patterns in that condition (bugs included) should be ashamed of themselves ...
